The Internet of Things

The “Internet of Things” will connect us to what is expected to be billions of products to make our lives supposedly easier.  Your washing machine will make decisions about your laundry soap without involving you at all.  Sounds wonderful? Perhaps but what do we loose in the process? In Alison Main’s well written and thought provoking article “Should the Network Really Be Everything?”,  the author questions our almost blind embrace of this new technology along with its 5G network based in the “Cloud”. We are rapidly moving towards a machine to machine future.  She points out that health effects of the new 5G technology have not been adequately tested.
