Digital Media and Child Development

The Children and Screens Institute is co-sponsoring the 2nd annual Digital Media and Developing Minds conference in Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in Long Island, New York from October 15-18, 2018.  Researchers will discuss how digital media influences child development at all ages. Current scientific studies will be presented with panelists and participants outlining directions for future study along with recommendations for interventions and solutions.

Questions to be examined include

  • How is digital media enhancing and/or impairing children’s ability to live happy, healthy, and productive lives?
  • How are years of electronically mediated interactions shaping children’s physical, cognitive, emotional, and social development?
  • What should we do about it?
